Gordonstoun School

Gordonstoun School, in North East Scotland, was founded in 1934 by the pioneering educationist Dr Kurt Hahn, who also inspired Outward Bound, the Duke of Edinburgh's Award and the United World College of the Atlantic. The school has recently acquired the modern Oyster 80 ketch Ocean Spirit of Moray for seamanship training. In addition to school curriculum commitments Ocean Spirit is available for charter primarily in the Western Isles from Kyle of Lochalsh, berths on legs of the Tall Ships Race will also be available. Sixteen berths are available per voyage; young people and adults unconnected with Gordonstoun are welcome to apply from age 16 but there may be an age restriction to meet Tall Ships Race conditions.
